Case Study
The Challenge
To design a special-edition wine label that conveyed heritage, craftsmanship and classical refinement, while standing out in a premium, highly competitive market. The identity needed to evoke Italian tradition with collector’s value, and remain aligned with tesdorpf.de’s established brand.
The Solution
In collaboration with Ruska Martin Associates, the label was built around classical iconography: Roman engravings, architectural motifs and coin references to Cicero. Engraved-style typography paired with cursive details reinforced the sense of age and authenticity. Textured paper, scalloped edges and gold foil added tactile richness, turning the bottle into an object of ritual and celebration.
Client Reception
Tesdorpf praised the strong classical connection, premium feel and refined storytelling, noting the design’s impact on shelf presence and collector appeal.
What Could Be Improved
Future editions could expand the visual system across multiple vintages, introduce illustration variations, or explore embossed or metal elements for added material depth.
